  • Why It Matters

The North Carolina Clinician & Clinician Retention & Well-Being (NCCPRW) Consortium is a statewide initiative advancing clinician well-being and workforce retention through systems-level change. Convened and led by the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation, NCCPRW brings together health systems, professional organizations, and partners across the state to address the root causes of burnout and workforce strain.

Launched in response to rising burnout, intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Consortium focuses on improving the environments in which clinicians work, not just individual resilience. Today, NCCPRW operates as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with the Foundation continuing as a key partner in supporting statewide collaboration and long-term impact.

How it Works

NCCPRW aligns partners across North Carolina to drive meaningful, system-level improvements through:

Why it Matters

Healthy clinicians are essential to healthy communities. By addressing the root causes of burnout, not just the symptoms, NCCPRW is helping create more sustainable health care environments where clinicians can thrive and continue delivering high-quality care.
